When a bit becomes currency

"Do you want to pay with Euros or with bitcoin?" The question was asked to me in a restaurant in Trento, it surprised me.
Bitcoin?
I wasn't expecting to hear such question.

Bitcoin is a digital currency created to enable exchanges on the web from every part of the world. For some bitcoin has died years ago and for others it is a speculative bubble,  as defined by the economist and guru Alan Greenspan in 2013.
